More 1/1 scale Gundam pics

Some more amazing pics taken by Danny Choo.

I just love looking at this thing

Gundam Odaiba

While its mostly completed, the fence was still up and I guess they still need to work on some small bits n pieces including the base that Gundam stands on

It was very dark and had a tough time getting good shots. Brought the tripod along but it was too dark for auto focus to work properly.

The detail on the RX78 is just incredible. I want to see what it looks like on a sunny day too!

Gundam Odaiba

The official opening is not until the beginning of July but you can bet that there will be loads of people there this weekend.

When the Gundam is officially open to the public, it will be lit up with steam shooting out from some of the joints and I think it has limited movement of bits of its body

It was a bit difficult to see all the detailing due to the lack of light - recommend that you go in the day time if you want to see it before the opening.

So from what I've read, it looks like the RX78 is only going to be up on display until August and then it gets pulled down after. Will work with folks to pull together a petition to keep it up

Gundam Odaiba

Is going to look awesome with the eyes lit up and a load of Gundam noises going off in the background.

A truly most awesome sight - see it with your own eyes if you have the chance.

If you Build it........

Japan as we know is the mecca of all things mecha and this 1/1 scale, Scratch build model ( or monument ) of the RX-78 GUNDAM in Odaiba Japan is the coolest statue I've ever seen put in a public park.

If there was ever a time to go to Japan, do it now before it's gone.

Love the decals.

COOL COMIC BOOK MOMENTS : BEN GRIMM

Today, we look at Tom DeFalco and Ron Wilson’s famous “boxing” Annual of Marvel Two-in-One.

Enjoy!

Marvel Two-in-One Annual #7 was produced by DeFalco and Wilson and it told the tale of the Elder of the Universe known as the Champion, who showed up on Earth to challenge the most powerful heroes on the planet to box him. If they all lose, he will destroy the Earth.

Here, DeFalco chose to highlight a difference between Thing and the other, more powerful heroes like Thor and the Hulk. The Thing actually knew how to BOX.

And DeFalco and Wilson handled the boxing scenes beautifully, all introduced by a wonderful panel by Wilson below…

Then the Thing enters the ring, as the last hope of the Earth…

The fight has not gone well, but the Thing has managed to stay in the ring, which all the other heroes could not do. And then we get the ending of the fight…

And That's why Ben Grimm is the man!
